Sharing Symbols and Text

To all,
        Recently I was doing some development work in Flash 5 of course
using JGenerator. I am starting to use more and more shared/linked
symbols and fonts. By sharing the fonts, I have been able to
substantially reduce the file size of many swfs.

Now I tried using shared fonts and symbols with Generator objects, like
the list object and no go. Just an error and exception.

Is this something that should work? I am doing something wrong? Being
vague.

Now I am not trying to say share the symbols I am using in my generator
objects. But I would like to share symbols within them. Like if I put a
button into a movie clip that I use for a scrolling list. I want the
button to be a shared object.

Or at least I would like to be able to share fonts.

Now I can think of many reasons why this can't be done. Although I can
think of reasons why. Like if Flash swf format can hold text, position,
and etc. independent of Font, why can't jgen generate that sort of info.
Independent of font, but using a reference to a font to be added at run
time.

Now I know jgen is server side, and shared symbols are client side. But
could jgen not use references like attachMovie or what ever a normal swf
gets that has shared symbols/fonts. So instead of jgen adding the exact
font or sybmol, it would add a tag or something to be interpreted at
runtime, and import the symbol like intended?

Is this a Flash 5 thing. If I use Flash MX, and mx/v6 format can I share
symbols and fonts in jgen object files, swts?

Anyone want to join, help, or point me to where in jgen I could go to
add the functionality I am seeking. Like what classes should I look
into.
