How can I get the value of url passed vars?

How can I get the values of vars I am passing to my swt via the url

my.swt?my_var=value

How can I get the value of my_var?

I tried 

context.getValue();

using the context that is part of the doCommand function. Do I need to
get the context from the parentScript?


I need this for my new object which I am now testing out. It's coming
along well. I was a little delayed due to work that popped up, but I
would like to finish the object ASAP.
