That is fine, but if I do not have {my_var} in the fla before making the
swt the other vars passed are ignored.

If that is how things work, then I can rig a way around it. I will just
create parameters, and have it always set to the values I need like

start {start}
stop {stop}

If someone changes them in flash the object will not work, and I can
include a note about that but that seems a little hokey.

Now aside from that I have still yet to find a way to get the other
values that will be constant among all lists. Like in my case
categories. So I have a way around my problem of passing new vars, but
what about re-passing the others?
