Hmm.  That does not sound like an improvement to me as far as the Java
Preferences API is concerned.  Like many other people, I prefer to have
the least amount of fiddling possible with my registry.  It also makes
it impossible to share the configuration files amongst Windows and *nix
on a dual-boot machine.  But I assume this is not a JGloss issue.
