[rvm-research] Researching the Jikes RVM

Hi Devs,
We are a group of 3 Erasmus Mundus master students from Instituto
Superior Técnico, Lisbon. We are currently studying the JIT Compiler
and MMTk Garbage collector module of Jikes, for our "Virtual Execution
Environments" research. During this, I noticed that many of the
presentations and resources linked in [1] lead to the presentations
that do not exist (e.g. [2], [3], and [4]). Could you please point me
to the current location of these resources?

I would also like to know the status of the Compressor Mark-Compact
Garbage Collector project listed in [5]. I found that a GSoC student
worked on it, during 2010. Is it already completed? If not, I would
like to work on that, as I am focusing on MMTk garbage collector. I
had a look at the GSoC 2013 project ideas [6], but it is not included
there. If it is already implemented, could you point me to some other
feature requests, that fits an equal amount of work load? I tried to
view the rfe from [7]. But they are marked as 'historic' and are
empty. Am I looking into a wrong place?

I have recently built jikes, and wrote a blog post on that [8]. Sorry
for bugging with too many questions in a single mail. I logged into
the irc [9]. But no one seems to be logged in there. As an open source
evangelist and four time Google Summer of Code participant (twice as a
student, with AbiWord and OMII-UK, and twice as a mentor with
AbiWord), I am comfortable with the open source technologies, and also
experienced in programming with Java technologies. I hope I can make a
positive contribution to the community, with the research.j
