Hi, On 20.03.2013 18:50, Dmitri Makarov wrote: > In my opinion, what would be a very big step for making Jikes RVM more attractive is to complete the migration to Open JDK class library. In particular, for that to happen on Mac OS X, it may be required to add support for JDK 1.7, both in build process and the class library interface implementation in Jikes RVM. Perhaps, such a project is too difficult for GSoC. I doubt that the completion of the OpenJDK migration would be a suitable GSoC project for most students. IMHO it would have a steep learning curve for someone not familiar with the Jikes RVM. That said, we could add it as a GSoC project idea if someone is interested in mentoring the project. We'd also have to make sure that the project description conveys the scope and difficulty of the project.
