[rvm-research] Regarding MMTK in Jikes

Hi

 I am Hari Krishnan. I am a second year PhD student in Louisiana State
University. I am working on a novel garbage collection algorithm based on
reference counting approach. To publish, I need a strong experimentation. I
chose Jikes RVM to implement my gc since it is de facto standard in GC
community.  I am finding difficulties in understanding MMTk in general. I
don't have much understanding of VMs in general. I read the documentation
of Jikes MMTk and sample codes in the Jikes couple of times. But still I
don't understand it very well.  It would be great help if there are any
more documents that helps me to understand the whole structure of MMTk and
Jikes and helps me to develop my gc in Jikes. Are there any summer school
or any session that I can attend to understand Jikes and MMTk better?
