Please give us more information, in particular:

- the version of Jikes RVM that you're using

The code for the bootimage runner hasn't seen much development in the last years so compilation on clang is likely to fail.

I can compile the latest Jikes RVM version of the repository on Ubuntu 13.10 with Ubuntu's gcc 4.8.1.

Problems in the bootimage runner code are possible. The Jikes RVM project doesn't have any Mac OS regression machines and relies on community members to make sure that the code works on Mac OS (and provide patches if it doesn't).
