Hi,

This question is not related to directly to Jikes. Maybe, Jikes gurus might
provide a hint here.
When using Oracle hotspot VM, even if the application contains only one
thread, JVM creates 52 OS threads at the beginning. Those are created all
the times at the beginning regardless of the number of threads.

I got the 52 number by looking at /proc/${pid}/task
