The first option doesn't work. It's not applicable for our case because we implemented our data collection in C (We tried in Java but it would impact GC a lot). We have realized that JikesRVM is not using more than 2% of the available RAM (65+GB) across execution using the top command. We see the following property: target.bootimage.data..address=XSomeValueX Does the error indicate that "malloc" returns an address in this area located to the data of the boot image ? Even if we change the heap size, how can we guarantee that malloc won't conflict the bootimage address? Further question is : Since JikesRVM only supports 32-bit, can it use more than 4GB of memory ?
