Not directly. Jira has a "project import" function, which will do the job, but it only works for backup sets from the same version of Jira. What you'll need to do is: 1. In Jira 4.2, run a "backup to xml" 2. Download Jira-standalone, the same version as your 4.3 (down to the point release - if you're on 4.3.1 in live, you want 4.3.1 standalone) and install it. You do NOT need to worry about using a real database or any complex configs, you're running locally for one user, and HSQL is good enough for this job 3. Import the 4.2 data, allowing it to upgrade the data (use a developer or evaluation license) 4. Export it from 4.3-standalone 5.
