Re: Make JIRA assignee field read only for end users but selectable for my team

The permission scheme allows you to control who can assign issues. My projects typically have a group/project roles that can create issues and a project role that actually works the issues, call them Project Staff. Only the Project Staff and Reporter can be assigned, but only the Project Staff can change the assignee.

Hi, When a new JIRA issue is logged by a user to my project team we need to lock down (Read only) the assignee field so it will go to the automatic assignee. We also need the field to be selectable for my team so we have the ability to choose our own assignee. Can this be done? We are using Jira 4.1.1. Any assistance would be appreciated.
