Yes, use the same in the message field (and you don't need to have that last on screen). You'll need to do some simple debugging to get it to work, and I'm afraid we can't help you with that, as it's your system. Message/velocity fields are interchangeable. The difference between the "view" and "edit" types is important - if you put your script in a "view" field, it will only execute on the issue view screen.
