Hi, In the latest Sun Java Live Chat series Stanley Ho -Java Web Start/Java Plug-In/Java Update Tech Lead - answers questions about upcoming installation goodies in Java 1.4.2 (Mantis) and Java 1.5 (Tiger). Questions answered include: * What's new in Java 1.4.2? * How do I use Java Web Start with SSL? More specifically, how do I set up the JNLP file? * What exactly are the changes in the JRE and SDK installer? * Ideally, Java applets should be as quick and painless for end users (and developers) as Flash currently is. How realistic is a runtime the size of Flash, and just as easy to download and program? * When Java Update downloads and installs an updated JRE, does that new JRE version become the default JRE? And I assume that the old JRE versions are left alone (that is, not uninstalled)? * How are incremental downloads triggered (assuming they are automatic)? * and many more Full story @ http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/community/chat/JavaLive/2003/jl0429.html - Gerald ------------------------------------------------------- Enterprise Linux Forum Conference & Expo, June 4-6, 2003, Santa Clara The only event dedicated to issues related to Linux enterprise solutions www.enterpriselinuxforum.com
