Sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to you...between work and 
being sick I have been unable to deal with all of the email in my inbox.

JPublish is two things: 1.) a web application framework, i.e. an action 
API with a means to map actions to requests in a variety of ways: path 
based, page-based, globally, etc. and 2.) a content management 
framework.  The second part of JPublish is becoming even more important 
in JPublish 3.x with the redesign of the system to rely on Commons VFS 
(Virtual File System) for any and all resource management.  With version 
3.0 it will be much easier to build a nice CMS front-end on top of JPublish.

It doesn't make coffee. ;-)

I wouldn't compare JPublish to WebMacro at all.  WebMacro is a template 
engine, whereas JPublish is a framework which can use a variety of 
template engines (currently Velocity, FreeMarker and WebMacro).

Perhaps you should take a look at the feature list ( 
http://www.jpublish.org/features.html ) if you haven't already.  This 
will give you an indication of some of the features in JPublish. 
Additionally take a look at the User's Guide ( 
http://www.jpublish.org/guide.html ) to get into the details of how 
JPublish works.

One thing you are right about is that I do want you to know why JPublish 
exists just by looking at the homepage.  I'll be the first to admit that 
I am not the best author or writer so any feedback would be well 
appreciated.
