Yes, it can be done and works very well. OFBiz uses this exact same approach
and could be used as an example, if needed. You would want to download the
2.1.1 release from SourceForge and use the ecommerce module as an example.
This module will not work without the rest of OFBiz, but you can at least
see how things are layed out.
