Asleep At The Wheel

It's been a while since I've posted anything about JPublish, and for
good reason: I recently up and moved my family and switched jobs.
Suffice to say things have been hectic and will continue to be that way
until our product release in November.

I am starting to get some free time though and I would like to address a
few outstanding issues:

1.) 3.0 release - The 3.0 release is almost ready to go...I need to
spend a bit of time writing some new documentation, but it's already
partially there. I can't give an exact date but I can say that I've
been using the JPublish 3 in the company where I work and it is
extremely stable so it is mostly just a polish issue.

2.) What's Next - One of the reasons I switched to a Virtual File System
for JP3 is because I really want to build a nice management UI which can
work with all of the various repositories which you may have. To that
end one of my main plans is to work on a standard UI for JPublish.
Aside from that I would like to reduce dependencies on external
libraries which are no longer essential. This will take quite a bit of
time but I think it will be important.

3.) Another thing which I would like to do is to publicly thank Florin
for all of the work he has done and continues to do with JPublish.
Florin has been working on new features for JPublish which I hope will
get into the main release soon.

4.) Finally I would like to say that JPublish will continue to live. My
recent absence in no way indicates the end of life for JPublish. On
the contrary, because of the way JPublish is being used at the company I
work for I don't doubt that there will be improvements coming down the
line. As always if you have suggestions for JPublish please send an
email to the mailing list and be vocal.

Sincerely,
Anthony Eden
