It would be nice to hear what Anthony has to say in this regard, 
may be you could consider getting rid of it in the long run.

Ha! same here. I made a big mistake by migrating from freemarker to
velocity, thing is that at that time, there were those license fights
and a lot of hype on Velocity, which sounded very promising. Fast-forward 
several years and one realize that was a mistake. Freemarker was more
mature at that time, and it continue to be now.
