The new path variable represents a path to the actual content being 
rendered, including a prefix indicating the repository name or the word 
template: if it is a template whereas the Page.getPath() returns the 
actual request path.  The path argument for the view is primarily for 
naming purposes in the view engine (i.e. passed to Velocity or 
FreeMarker for logging purposes).
