All those features are Good Things(tm), however they are just extra features on top of existing planned features of jRPM. And if things are already going slowly with the existing features, making plans for many many more is not going to make development going any faster ;-) The original vision of jRPM was very simple. I started this project, because my distro was RedHat, and I was generally using Windows as my desktop OS. I wanted to be able to create RPM files from an ant script, and upload it to the server for deployment. So the vision was mainly to create a library that can read/write a .rpm file, and in addition, include a rpm task for ant. Future plans after that included the idea of also creating the backend/db part. The main problem with jRPM at the moment, is that there is very little active development at the moment, as Mike hasn't been having much time to work on it, and to I have myself stopped using RPM files, as my main linux distro is now gentoo ;) On Wed, 13 Apr 2005 16:12:53 +0300, "Nikita" <write_to_zig-JGs/[email protected]> said: > Hello jrpm-devel, > > In order to form vision of this project I would like to call attention > to mine. > > General idea of the project: > > jRPM is a package management system based on rpm packages written in > java.
