Hmm. I kinda like that idea. I keep meaning to mention a change I
make to the template that you might like: I add a small icon to
the left of the greeting, a little person whose colour changes
depending on status. Anonymous they're slightly blushing, asserted
but not logged in a slight bit green, and if logged in their face
is clear and they wave at you. You can see this on the CeryleWiki at

    http://purl.org/ceryle/wiki/

Happy to donate the icons and supply the patch if you want to add
it to the CVS. Would save me from making the change each time if
you do... :-)

I still like them myself. I probably hit Edit from the bottom 50% of
the time, especially on long pages. It depends on whether I know I'm
going to edit the page before I've read it or after.

I really prefer it the way it is now. The only thing I'd suggest is
maybe make it look like a menu somehow, maybe putting a line border
around it with a down arrow at its right, ala Java Swing and Mac OS?
My only problem with the current top right stuff is that we currently
have a link (Welcome), an action (Edit), another action (Login), and
a menu (More...) that all look the same. I think we can lose the
Welcome as redundant with the Favorites, that Edit and Login should
probably look the same, but somehow Menu... needs to look like a menu
a bit more, some kind of visual clue to differentiate it from the
actions.

I'm not particularly fussed about Add Comment being prominent as I'm
not a big fan of comments. They are easily ignored and are a bit of an
idea slum. Comments could be put on the page itself. But I'm not
arguing to get rid of them as apparently some people like them, simply
that they don't need to be highlighted much (IMO). The current place
under the More... menu is fine by me.
