Possible bug: Got timed out --lost changes to file

I was writing a long article for about two hours without saving. I am sure
that I had logged in otherwise i am not allowed to write. Usually I dont
write online cause i hate when these things occur. When i pressed save the
page said "you must log in"..To my disgust all my summary of the email
exchanges
about tagging versus namespaces was lost. Two hours..has this happened
before? was using 4.5.93
