Hi All:

I'm still on my quest to add a time stamp to GC
I came across this went reviewing jvmpi doc.
Can I use jswat to catch NotifyEvent from the JVM?

The VM sends an event by calling NotifyEvent with a JVMPI_Event data
structure as the argument. The following events are supported: 
method enter and exit 
object alloc, move, and free 
heap arena create and delete 
GC start and finish 
JNI global reference alloc and free 
JNI weak global reference alloc and free 
compiled method load and unload 
thread start and end 
class file data ready for instrumentation 
class load and unload 
contended Java monitor wait to enter , entered, and exit 
contended raw monitor wait to enter, entered, and exit 
Java monitor wait and waited 
monitor dump 
heap dump 
object dump 
request to dump or reset profiling data 
Java virtual machine initialization and shutdown

There does not appear to be anything in the JDI that allows for catching
gc events. I would guess that the -verbosegc is your only option.
