RE: Errors when launching JSwat

Hi Nathan,

I'm still having problems.

I deleted my previous JSWat Install directory

I ran the installer and this time selected the JDK directory

There were no messages during installation.

I get the same errors when launching JSWat.

Judging by the error messages I think they are XML related in nature.


Here's the contents of my jswat.conf file:

 From your first email to me, in which you stated that the installer 
warned you that the JDK you selected was missing the JDI classes, I can 
infer that these additional problems are related to that warning. It is 
worth heeding the warning of the installer and consider what it is 
trying to tell you. Perhaps the messaging needs more explanation that it

currently provides.

Regardless, the solution is simple. Open the etc/jswat.conf file in 
Notepad and change the 'netbeans_jdkhome' value to point to your JDK 
installation (e.g. "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06"). Right now it is

probably pointing to the JRE, which is a mere subset of the JDK and is 
insufficient for running JSwat. That's what the warning is about, as 
well as the explanation on the downloads page and in the README file 
that accompanies the software.
