Hello, I am in the early stages of designing a system to serve distributed services and the questions are mounting quickly. Please, I would like to solve some silly doubts about the inner working of the DiscoveryService. 1) When I issue a "getRemoteAdvertisements" method call, JXTA also retrieves the non expired Advertisements currently in the cm besides sending the remote retrieval command? Or should I *necessarily* issue "getLocalAdvertisements" to retrieve that local Advertisements? 2) If I keep sending periodical "getRemoteAdvertisements" method calls each 2 min. or so, this will cause a great impact on the network performance? 3) If the peers that compose my application keep sending periodical Advertisements to describe a set of services they are providing, this can cause any kind of network flooding or heavily impact the network performance? Thanks, Edward __________________________________ Yahoo! Messenger Show us what our next emoticon should look like. Join the fun. http://www.advision.webevents.yahoo.com/emoticontest
