Discovering peers on the same node using the shell

Hello, I'm using the JXTA shell to go through some code examples. I have
two instances of the shell running ok on the same machine. However,
after executing peer -r on both peers, peer A can see peer B but peer B
cannot see peer A.

Running rdvstatus on both peers shows they are each connected to a
rendezvous peer, albeit different ones. Both peers are edge peers.

Is there a trick to finding peers on the same node, using the shell?

Thanks
