Definition of term sub-group

Hi,

I'm just looking for a quick definition of sub-group within Jxta.

I know groups are hierarchical, but from that when I create my own group
from the netpeergroup, is my group a sub-group.

Also I presume if a create another group from my new group, then this
new group is a sub-group.

So apart from my first own group, what advantages are there to creating
further sub-groups off of my initial one?
