Basic question about peer groups

Hi,

We all know that a peer can belong to multiple peer groups
simultaneously. I found this statement very ambiguous. Here what do we
mean by term belog?

Does it mean that  a peer can jsut have a membership in his reserves for
multiple peer groups and can log into them whenever it requires? or does
it mean that a peer can be logged in into multiple peer groups
simultaneously and can recieve messages from the peers of different peer
groups simultaneously?

so the basic question is

Can a peer a recieve messages from the peers of diiferent peer groups
simultaneously by logging into the respective peer groups at the same
time? or

Is it necessary for the peer to log off from the current peer group to
log in into a different peer group?
