Web Workflow Management System

Hi

I'm new to all this, so go easy on me

I am looking into investigating and designing and implementing a P2P
workflow management architecture and create a system that will allow
users to participate in and manage Workflow Processes in a p2p fashion
over the Internet. can anyone point me in the right direction on
examples on how to do this, and current systems that already exist.

an initial google search has yielded very few results, so any help
would be very greatfully recieved.
