error message using exceptions

Hi all

I’m getting this error message when i try to
instantiate a class that uses classes from
net.jxta.exception:

java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:
net/jxta/exception/PeerGroupException (Unsupported
major.minor version 49.0)

I´m using JXTA 2.3.7 & JDK 1.4.2_04-b05, any ideas?
