If you've built the demo app, give it a whirl.

http://localhost:8080/default/model.do?model=createdb
Then, access http://localhost:8080/default/

Login, look at the CRUD app, etc. etc.

It should answer 1.  For 2, there is an user-group service, meant to 
access user/group data in a generic way, and Mike's been working on 
app-helm, which also has user/group management as one of it's key 
goals.  For 3, svc-report-jasperreports does report generation. For 4, 
user admin is done through the same mechanism as 2 (or, you could use 
the CRUD app. to manipulate data in the tables).
