error when reloading context in tomcat

when i want to reload my app's context in tomcat, it is not able to
delete all files of the old one. the uberjar and the log directory
aren't deleted ("in use") and thus the new content not written. i have
to restart tomcat before i can delete them.
the interesting thing is that tomcat manager _always_ lists one session
for my context, even if i freshly deployed and didn't browse it.
any ideas what's going wrong there? [keel default+hoj, win, tomcat 5.57,
java5]
