There is no "real" dependency, e.g. it doesn't depend to compile. The
idea is that when you install the plugin, you also get the appropriate
version of all of the example apps that are working properly with that
version of the plugin. 

Maybe it would be better to leave the examples as a seperate version,
and just post information to indicate which versions are the latest...
