Thanks  for the overview, but I'm new to the environment, and I'm afraid 
this is not  enough to me...
I promise you that, if you help me get through the setup, I'll help you 
publish the information on the wiki. :o)

Now, as you already caught, I'm interested in the hibernate 
implementation, mostly because they say they already arranged a DB2400 
dialect, which is supposed to save me the mapping and testing job (and 
much more, hopefully...).

Second requirement: I'd like to implement the whole persistence 
(including authentication/authorization) in this database, so first I 
test the standard setup, then I start working on the custom application.
