app-register & cookies

Hi all.  I'm a little confused about the cookies and keel, i guess 
actually it's app-register that worries about the cookies at all.  I'm 
using tomcat and struts, and i'd like for the authentication to stay on 
the users browser for a longer period, say maybe a week or month.  Is 
there something like that built into app-register and I just need to 
configure it properly?  I'm not seeing it if it is there.

the thing that is really confusing me right now is that I don't find any 
cookies in my browser for say keel-login, or keel-password.  all I have 
is a JSESSION cookie.  Are the keel values stored in that cookie maybe, 
and thats what I'm not understanding?

Hoping someone who knows has a few minutes to straighten me out.  Or 
point me to a wiki or manual page that I've overlooked.
