Let me grovel in advance if this isn't the appropriate forum for this question... That said, I recently installed Fedora2, Mozilla 1.7.2 and Blackdown 1.4.2. The fonts in certain applets are markedly more jagged than when I load the same applet in Windows. Did a bit of googling and wound up installing various MS TrueType fonts (in X). I then copied the MS .ttf files to $JAVA_HOME/lib/fonts and edited fonts.dir in the same directory to include the new fonts. (Copied text from fonts.dir in the /usr/share/fonts dir created during the MS font install). Finally, I edited font.properties in $JAVA_HOME/lib to point to the newly installed MS fonts. Unfortunately, none of this seems to have any effect whatsoever on the appearance of the applet in question. It's as if my font.properties is being ignored completely. Is there something I'm missing? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
