I know currently it's quite hard to get started
using Luxor. We have some initiatives underway (e.g.
Eclipse plugin) to make it easier (Although it will
take time.)

The easiest way to try out a Hello World example
using Luxor is very likely using the Luxilla package.

You can find Luxilla online @
http://luxilla.sourceforge.net

You might wonna try out Denis Cardon's calculator
tutorial. See
http://luxor-xul.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/GettingStarted
for details

Another option is to use alternative XUL motors in
Java that ship in a single jar such as Thinlet or
Swix. See the Xul Alliance site @
http://xul.sourceforge.net for details.

Well, I'm sorry to tell you that currently it will
be quite a challenge to use Luxor without any
knowledge of Java.

Well, you can use Jython instead of Java to try
Luxor. However, I'm not sure if it's possible to use
Jython without any knowledge of Java.

Well, as long as you use Java 1.4 everything should
work out fine.

Well, luxor-1.0-b8 is just a library. You can't run
it byitself. To try out Luxor you also need more
libraries and some examples exercising the Luxor
kernel. You might wonna download the Ramses example
package and see if you can get the example up and
running on your machine.

  Hope this helps.
