For an experienced coder I'd recommend "The Struts Framework, Practical Guide for Java Programmers" by Sue Spielman. Short, succinct, superior best practices and discussion of Struts. If you need more code, "Mastering Jakarta Struts" by James Goodwill is a good quick start and not a bad choice. A lengthier but excellent open elaboration is the "Struts Kick Start" by James Turner and Kevin Edell. And the best "treatise" would be the "Struts in Action" by Ted Husted. Spielman and Turner/Edell focus on Struts 1.1, but all these texts are sound. My suggestion would be to grab one or all and dive in. All will get you started; but the first two will do it faster.
