Datasource

Hi
 I use GenericDatasource for connection pooling using Struts.(in
struts-config.xml)
What happens when the database goes down?
Obviously connections are dead.
Will connection pool  try to establish connections again when the
database comes up.
This will help me not to restart the servlet engine.
