Bugs item #1151875, was opened at 2005-02-25 16:29 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by eddi42 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=450647&aid=1151875&group_id=47745 Category: JMX implementation Group: Release 3.0.0 Status: Closed Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Submitted By: Thomas Arend (eddi42) Assigned to: Jeremy Boynes (jboynes) Summary: Compatibility with Java 1.3 Initial Comment: When compiling the sources for version 3.0.0, I recognized that an AssertionError is thrown in mx4j.server.MX4JMBeanServer.getDomains(). This Error is available in Java 1.4 and higher only and therefore breaks compatibility with Java 1.3. The documentation stills claims compatibilty with Java 1.3, and this is still our preferred state. Would you please check this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Thomas Arend (eddi42) Date: 2005-02-28 11:38 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=695071 I checked the CVS version from today, everything is fine now. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Simone Bordet (simonebordet) Date: 2005-02-25 18:29 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1170988 I have change the exception thrown to be ImplementationException, for consistency, so it wil be easier to replace when we'll move to JDK 1.4. I confirm that MX4J can be built on JDK 1.3, except the JDK 1.4 specific classes (that is, the hessian and burlap connectors, and RMI's SSL socket factories). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jeremy Boynes (jboynes) Date: 2005-02-25 17:50 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=378919 Fixed - now just throws an Error (given that this should never happen) Please can you confirm that this is fixed under 1.3 and let me know if there are other issues (I do not have a suitably configured JDK to hand) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jeremy Boynes (jboynes) Date: 2005-02-25 17:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=378919 My bad - sorry. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=450647&aid=1151875&group_id=47745 ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
