Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: NANO-52
    Summary: [pool2] PoolingComponentAdapter's growth useless
       Type: Bug

     Status: Open
   Priority: Minor

 Original Estimate: 10 minutes
 Time Spent: Unknown
  Remaining: 10 minutes

    Project: NanoContainer
 Components:
             pool
   Versions:
             1.0-beta-1

   Assignee: Joerg Schaible
   Reporter: Joerg Schaible

    Created: Tue, 3 Feb 2004 6:13 PM
    Updated: Tue, 4 May 2004 5:52 PM

Description:
According to doc the Pool of a PoolingComponentAdapter should grow for -1 as value for milliseconds. This is useless, since the pool grows to maxPoolSize regardless of the value in waitMilliSeconds, but not further.

Therefore I changed the implementation to support unlimited growth for a maxPoolSize of -1 and allow an indefinite wait time for waitMilliSeconds.
