(Except UI, which was postponed to May 29 and also task #21354, which will be done in one more week.) May 15 was also the Milestone 4 date. Unfortunately, there is no Q- and Milestone 4 build. Report at http://qa.netbeans.org/q-builds/Q-build-report-200205170100.html See release schedule: http://www.netbeans.org/devhome/docs/releases/34/index.html Summary of planned features: http://www.netbeans.org/devhome/docs/releases/34/features/nb34-features-overview.html UI issues: http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=320103&listName=nbui SIPtech (www.siptech.com) is pleased to introduce their NetBeans-JBoss Integration module - NbJBoss. NbJBoss is a NetBeans module that integrates the NetBeans IDE with the JBoss[tm] Application Server. http://www.netbeans.org/articles/NbJBoss_Writeup.html Discussions [nbdev] Datasystems are one of the most important parts of NetBeans. Recently, Yarda proposed draft of new Datasystems API. Discussion continues with more specific topic: Datasystems threading. http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=318046&listName=nbdev http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=317850&listName=nbdev Original message: http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=314721&listName=nbdev Proposal: http://openide.netbeans.org/proposals/loaders/ Milos posted proposal about redesigning JAR packager module. Requirements are part of proposal. There are a lot of motivations to do such changes, e.g. it should be integrated with the new projects infrastructure. http://jarpackager.netbeans.org/design40.html http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=318209&listName=nbdev There are lot of modules hosted on netbeans.org. Jan Lahoda recently contributed player control module. It is example of tiny module, which does not need its own project on the site. Discussion covers topic how to publish such modules. http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=318065&listName=nbdev People agree with Jesse's suggestion: http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=320253&listName=nbdev [nbui] Dirk Ruiz announced change of the default windowing mode - in dev builds, it is now MDI. http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=319392&listName=nbui Debugger has new icons. Motivations include A11Y, I18N, bugs, etc. David-John Burrowes published document about changes: The NetBeans Debugger Interface - Icon Revisions. http://ui.netbeans.org/docs/hi/debugger3.4/icons/index.html See what people like on them and send your comments. http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=318103&listName=nbui [nbusers] Discussion about audit module continues. This module should support code conventions check (e.g. Sun code conventions) and should provide customization. At least two current projects trying to do that. Nicolai Czempin suggested to join effort and create one module with improved and extended functionality. http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=319074&listName=nbusers http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=319913&listName=nbusers Current projects: http://checkstyle.sourceforge.net/ http://jalopy.sourceforge.net/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This issue of NetBeans Weekly News was brought to you by Pavel Flaska.
