** Tegal (NB 3.5) release **

NetBeans IDE 3.5 is now available! This new version of the IDE includes significant performance improvements over past versions and adds additional support modules for the development of web applications.

Riyad Kalla proposed to change current release guidelines of NetBeans. The objective is to fix as much defects as possible and release IDE when it is really stable. Its basic idea is to make bug criteria more strict and not to bind to some fixed dates. So far it seems to be perfect starting task for the new NetBeans Board.

The list continued to help users resolve problems and answer questions. Some intermittent deadlocks were found in RC3 that are being investigated more. Charlie Kelly desired to know how to incorporate own GIF images into Java documentation. Jesse Glick advised to put the files into "doc-files" subdirectory.

Michael Saunders asked community for Perforce support in NetBeans. Unfortunately, there is no Perforce profile for Generic VCS module yet. If you have your own and want to share it, you can contribute the profile to [email protected] mailing list.

Chris LeDantec informed about progress with results from NetBeans 4.0 usability study, which Svata Dedic requested.

There is a discussion about stability of tests in release35 branch started by David Strupl. He faced several problems like incorrect ANT version, big dependencies and failing stable tests. For details read here:
