Now, this week's news
---------------------

We're edging ever closer to the full release of NetBeans IDE 3.6.
You may download the NetBeans IDE 3.6 Release Candidate 3 (RC3) at

If all goes well, the final release should come tomorrow!

NB 3.6 isn't out the door yet, and we're already previewing what's to
come in NB 4.0. The most exciting development is the creation of a new
IDE project system based on Ant. See

some interesting nbusers threads
--------------------------------

Stormblade asks the eternal question, "Why is my web directory not
listed as a web module?" and gets an answer!

Wouldn't it be nice to have "themes" that made it easier to adjust the
editor's color settings in one place? Thomas Wolf thinks so and has
filed an request for enhancement.

Baffled by all the hoops you need to jump through to file a bug? We're
trying to make the process simpler and clearer, but there is still an
obstacle or two:

The Release Engineering team has temporarily stopped producing
installers for development builds since code changes are being done to
accomodate fancier "smart installers". Archive distributions are still
available.
