NetBeans is an open source, cross-platform IDE written in pure Java. It
is known to run on Windows, Linux, Solaris, MacOS X, FreeBSD, OpenVMS,
HP-UX and OS/2, and should run on any platform with an implementation of
Java 2 SDK version 1.3 or later.

The whole IDE is built around a core application framework with APIs,
and features are implemented in the form of plug-in modules. This
clean, modular architecture makes NetBeans an ideal platform for
building development tools and custom IDEs as well as many other types
of desktop applications. People who are interested in extending the IDE
or using NetBeans as a platform to build custom applications can find
all the needed information at the OpenAPIs website

Public License, an open source license very similar to the Mozilla
