Creating new Variable watch fails: "Unsupported: can not create a new class"

Guys,

What will it take to move this issue forward? https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=253248

All other IDEs supports this basic debugging feature. It used to work in Netbeans for years and was recently removed. The fact that all other IDEs still implement this feature casts serious doubt on there being a technical barrier to implementing it.
