Missing horizontal lcd scan line

When i run 8.0 or 8.1 there seems to have a few scan lines missing.

"Libraries" the L is missing the bottom line so it looks just like an I.
other letters have the bottome lopped off also.

i have tried jdk 8 as well as jdk 7 with no difference

i an running FEDORA 24 on an ASUS LAPTOP ( g73 ) WITH NVIDIA.
