@Geertjan: actually, I believe it is a flaw of our build system.

ant clean doesn't really clean everything and I've often times manually
removed the above mentioned folder just to make sure the build really runs
properly.

Of course, if one would make a fresh repository clone for each build then
that wiki link would make sense. But in reality you have various
compilation leftovers that confuse the build system on subsequent builds.
