Removing menus and menu items?

Greetings,

I teach CS1 at the University of Toronto.  We teach using Python and  
we're considering switching to NetBeans.  Like many others, we're  
concerned about the complexity of the UI that the students see.

Overall the UI is nice and clean, but we'd like to hide the following:

The Services and Files TopComponents
Menus: Profile, Team
Menu items: anything Java-related

Is there a straightforward way to do this?
