NetBeans in Education

Hey everyone,
I hope everyone had a chance to view the pages we've put up
(edu.netbeans.org), if there are any thoughts on how we could improve
the content or even better, what you miss and would want to
see, please let us know.

I would like to ask what people used for teaching Java.  I've heard from
various professors that for the basics all they need is just a notepad
and compiler.  Is that true in your case?
